NPR Linking Policy Still Stinks

You don’t have to ask for permission to link to NPR anymore. However, they still feel that there is such a thing as inappropriate linking. They still don’t get it. Maybe they should consider taking their site down if they don’t like how the web works.

Bad Business

This story of entrapment by car salesmen has to one of the most insane things I’ve ever read. Am I alone in thinking that businesses are becoming increasingly hostile toward their customers?

Murray Street

Sonic Youth’s new album is excellent. It’s nice to hear them playing actual songs again. I like Sonic Youth’s noisy stuff, but I think they’re a much better band when they concentrate on songwriting. The warm mix is a nice change from the last couple albums, as well. Jim O’Rourke continues to work his magic.

How is it that MySQL 3.22 on the server and MySQL 3.23 on my PowerBook could treat select statements so differently? This is maddening!

Ah. Maybe it's because the hosting company installed a beta version on a production server.
