Fear of change

Zeldman points to a totally misguided pro-<table> rant. The author would've spent his time more wisely learning instead of defending his decision not to meet what are apparently his customers' demands.

Oh my

What I would give to have a MINI like these. (via Gabe)

bridger.us/mini

Gabe's MINI site is one year old. Congrats, Gabe.

EULA on a woodworking tool">EULA on a woodworking tool

Stots Corporation, a woodworking tool company, sells a jig-making template wrapped in a license agreement (via Gripelog, via Slashdot). The license prohibits the buyer (renter, really) from lending, giving away, or selling the template or any jigs made with it. I understand Mr. Stots' predicament. However, I don't think trying to take away people's rights to the things they buy is the right thing to do. Patent law ought to give him the protection he needs. If it doesn't, then maybe he ought to come up with a more viable business rather than propping up a poor one with legalese.

I'm just waiting for the day when Levi Strauss puts a license on their jeans that prohibits the wearer from saying bad things about the company or their product.

ALA 3.0

A List Apart has returned! Thank you, Zeldman. I really missed it.

Copy Me / Remix Me

Creative Commons is distributing a mix album (via Marusin) of songs covered by their licenses. This means you can do pretty much whatever you want with the contents. Very cool.

Rear foglight kit

Gabe has gotten his hands on the new rear foglight kit for the MINI Cooper. I can't wait to get my own.

PHP scales

Here's a good article (via Slashdot) for all you PHP haters out there.

SunnComm still stupid

I take back what I said about SunnComm doing the right thing. Its president has decided to smear Alex Halderman's reputation.

Ideas from Foo Camp

O'Reilly's Foo Camp sounds like it was a great experience. I'd love to have the opportunity to participate in something like that.

Two particularly good ideas that sprang out of the camp:

Now, to come up with the brilliant idea that will get me invited to the next Foo Camp.
