Daily Show clips

Boing Boing points to a bunch of Daily Show clips.

On the wrong track

A couple good articles about the sorry state of the recording industry came my way via Interesting People the other day.

Bush's campaign site blocks foreign requests

Adam Curry, an American citizen living in Belgium, has discovered that George Bush's campaign site is blocking requests from outside the US. I guess the Bush people figure that they've already lost the vote of Americans living abroad. More information can be found at Boing Boing.

Red Sox win the World Series!

Incredible! What a great season.

Red Sox win game 3

Woohoo! One more.

Sprint hates having customers

A lot of people have been excitedly waiting for the introduction of the Treo 650. It looks like an impressive phone. Marc Hedlund writes (via Boing Boing):

I've asked in the past for “one with everything” — a phone with all the features I could want in one device, without compromises. It looks like PalmOne delivered, with a 320×320 screen, removable battery, upgraded OS, a better camera, and Bluetooth.

But all is not well:

TreoCentral is reporting that the Sprint version of the Treo 650 doesn't allow you to use Bluetooth for dial-up networking through your computer. Apparently other carriers will, but not Sprint.

You see, Sprint sells connection cards, which are PCCards that allow you to dial up your laptop over their cell network.

So, on top of generally substandard phones, poor customer service, and abysmal coverage, they're hobbling their good phones so that you have to give them more money.

I'm done with Sprint. I'm not planning on buying a Treo, but I'm still done.

Does anyone have suggestions about which service to go with? I love those little Sony Ericsson phones.

Republican switchers

Errol Morris has produced some excellent ads featuring people who voted for Bush in 2000 who are now going to vote for Kerry. (via Kottke)

More war on reality

Bush passes the buck again.
