Guardian profile of Jamie Oliver

The Guardian has posted a very thorough profile (via Slashfood) of Jamie Oliver, whose new book, Jamie’s Italy, will be published in the UK next week. (I wonder why it’s not being published in the USA.) I know that a lot of “serious” cooks don’t think too highly of him. But he’s the person who inspired me to learn how to really cook instead of just following the recipe.

Same here. I’ve been to his restaurant in London. I’ve made his food. I own his books. His style (and approach) to food and cooking makes the process and end results fantastic.

BTW did you see him on Martha? He sorta got shafted by only getitng 15 minutes. Also it may be worth mentioning his 15 DVD is finally out in the US.

I love Jaime Oliver. I think his recipes are delicious - we made an incredible grape salad from him!

I missed him on Martha. I’m sure she was trying to boss him! He is doing a segment on the Today Show this week. He’s working with a Mom of 5 kids who all want something different to eat. The lettuce in the frig. is for the lizard and the carrots for the rabbit. Jamie is going to change all of that!

I was able to catch Jaime Oliver on The Today Show with the mother of five. I missed the ingredients for the veggie sauce. Please share if you have it. Thank you!
