It’s hard to believe that it’s been twenty years (via Slashdot) since The Legend of Zelda was released. The first time I ever saw it was over at Matt Walker’s house. He was the kid with all the cool toys. I don’t remember much about that particular moment. But I do know that for many weeks afterward, we were totally enthralled by the world held inside that gold cartridge.

I discovered Legend of Zelda at Loren and Logan’s house. It was a lot of fun.
Zelda was no FInal Fantasy.
Which in turn, was no Snakes on a Plane.
I distinctly remember the Xerox copies of hand drawn maps of Hyrule that were passed around my Junior High. It’s amazing how we got along without the internet way back when…
“Zelda was no Final Fantasy.”
Actually I think this might depend on which versions of these games your comparing. Both games are legends in their own right to this day.
