David Berlind has created a good video explaining why DRM is C.R.A.P. (via Scobleizer). It’s a good intro to DRM for people who aren’t aware of the problem.

Google doesn’t care about Mac people
Gmail Notifier for OS X, the one good Google desktop app for this OS, has been broken for almost two days. It’s definitely something wrong on Google’s end, yet there has been no acknowledgement of the problem.
At least I’ll have one less distraction in my life until they get things fixed. New mail notifications are attention magnets.
A little automotive humor
A couple days ago, Gabe sent me a picture in honor of a funny story my college buddy George Sormaz told me. Here’s the gist of it:
An auto mechanic takes a call from someone who would like to bring their Pontiac Gool in for service. Confused, the mechanic asks the caller to repeat the model of his car. A Pontiac Gool. The mechanic tells the guy to go ahead and bring the car to the shop. In the meantime, the mechanic asks the other mechanic at the garage if he’s heard of a Pontiac Gool. Of course, he hasn’t. Later that day, the owner of the Gool brings his car in. Both mechanics go out to take a look at the car. When they see the badge on the side of the car, they can barely contain their laughter. Here is what they saw.
George told it better than that, of course. I couldn’t stop laughing. That we thought it was true made it even funnier.
A couple years ago, I was disappointed to find out that it’s actually an urban legend. Oh well. It’s still funny.
And George, if you happen to see this post, leave a comment or e-mail me or something. It’s stupid that we haven’t spoken with each other for this long.
I’m not staying up late anymore to work on things, unless it’s absolutely necessary. Lack of sleep has been making me very unproductive in recent weeks. I’m going to turn myself into an early-riser (via Evhead). It turns out that, with a little discipline, it’s really easy to do.
If you see me on IM late at night, please help me out by telling me to go to bed.
Since I switched to a one-column layout for my site, I’ve been trying to figure out where to put some of the links that were in the sidebar of my old layout. Tonight I put together a little sliding menu. I’m not happy with the design and code (especially the XHTML/CSS). But I figured that I’d throw it out there for your feedback.
Mac OS X is five years old today.
Jigsaw: get paid to sell out your friends and acquaintances. I’m not in their database and would like to stay that way, please.
