I got off the phone with my doctor a few minutes ago. The tissue he removed did contain cancer.
The good news is that there were no masses detected in my chest x-ray. The cough that’s taking forever to go away does seem to be due to the bronchitis I had a couple months ago.
Unfortunately, that’s all we know right now. The tests I will have in two to three weeks will tell us a lot more.
Thank you for all the kind thoughts, prayers, and support you have given my family over the last two weeks.

Good to hear! hugs Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Positive news so far and I’m sure it’ll keep on coming
Good to hear that it’s limited. And thanks for keeping us posted.
Thanks for the update! Thinking of you & your family…
That is good to hear. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
Has your doctor talked to you about PET scan to rule out metastases? Basically a whole-body scan that would show rapid uptake of glucose (sugar), usually indicative of fast-growing cells (forms of cancer, etc). I’ve seen it used many times in newly diagnosed cancer cases where metastasis was to be ruled out; however if your margins are clear on the biopsy, that’s good news. Just a thought.
No mention of a PET scan. He wants to do a pelvic CAT scan and another round of blood tests.
Good initial news. You’ll be in our prayers…
glad to hear the update. you’re continued to be in my thoughts and prayers.
This is excellent news, Matt! I hope to hear for more along the same lines.
Continuing to send prayers for a complete recovery
