Gmail Notifier has become Google Notifier (via TUAW). The application now includes notifications and a menu bar icon for Google Calendar. I’m really happy about the calendar integration. It’s something I’ve been wanting for a while now.

What is the point of a yacht in Monaco, a villa in Beverly Hills or a limo in your garage, when you are just one out of billions on the Internet?

Google doesn’t care about Mac people

Gmail Notifier for OS X, the one good Google desktop app for this OS, has been broken for almost two days. It’s definitely something wrong on Google’s end, yet there has been no acknowledgement of the problem.

At least I’ll have one less distraction in my life until they get things fixed. New mail notifications are attention magnets.

Could someone at Google please explain to me why e-mail with subject lines like the following consistently get through Gmail’s spam filter?

***SPAM*** “СПОСОБЫ ОПТИМИЗÐ?ЦИИ Ð?ДС И Ð?Ð?ЛОГÐ? Ð?Ð? ПРИБЫЛЬ”

I’d think the ***SPAM*** part would give it away.

It seems like Gmail’s spam filter needs some improvement. I’m not the only one who has noticed (via Digg). The ironic part is that it seems to have a hard time with messages that have “SPAM” in the subject line.

I plan on writing something about my experiences with Gmail in the near future.
