Portland was added to Google Maps street view today. Here is a shot of my MINI next to Ryan’s red Rabbit.

I’m running a different route until the eastern part of the track at Nike dries out. Now that I’m running mostly on flat cement, I’m realizing how much harder the elevation changes on the track make you work.

Last night Yahoo released a new beta version of its mapping software. I’ve used it a few times today and have found it to be surprisingly good. (Surprising because I generally dislike Flash-based applications.) It’s getting late, so rather than write my own review, I’ll just point to reviews on TechCrunch and Solution Watch.

I’m happy to say that I’m now completely Google-free.

Today, Cam pointed to Gmaps Pedometer, a really useful application of Google Maps that determines the distance of a route you draw on the map. It also calculates the calories burned if you were to walk that route. Jenn and I usually walk around the Nike campus.
