Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1 is available for download. I haven’t had the chance to try it yet. Looking forward to seeing how good its standards mode really is.

Rejoice, my fellow web developers! Microsoft has finally learned the error of its ways.
We’ve decided that IE8 will, by default, interpret web content in the most standards compliant way it can. This decision is a change from what we’ve posted previously.
Of course, the skeptic in me is asking in what other way Microsoft plans to screw us.
Whenever my dad and I talk about tech stuff, I invariably tell him that I think Microsoft is in real trouble. I get the feeling that he thinks I’m full of hot air. Think I’m wrong? Robert Scoble taped an awesome demo of Photosynth, a new photography app from Microsoft Live Labs. I wonder what David Hockney would think of this.
IE 7 was released via Automatic Update on Monday. I really hope this doesn’t ruin the week.

Microsoft has delayed the release of its forthcoming Windows Vista operating system until January 2007.
The application will be made available to enterprises in November this year.
Why do I get the feeling that this won’t be the last delay?

IE7 public beta
IE7 Beta 2 is now available. And, unlike the last beta, it’s open to the public. Since this version does not support many of the old CSS hacks, they’re encouraging developers to test their sites.
I guess I should probably invest in a new copy of Virtual PC.
