The BQE, Part 6
It’s been a while since my last Sufjan Stevens-related post, so I don’t feel too bad about posting another one.
Today, Pitchfork posted some information about the premiere of an orchestral work by Sufjan called The BQE. Here’s an excerpt:
I’m not sure why the author of the post on Pitchfork says that Sufjan is not performing in that video. That’s clearly his name in the credits and it sure does look like him at the piano. Pitchfork has corrected the post.
I just ordered the downloadable version of In Rainbows, the upcoming Radiohead album. It comes in two versions. The first:

A few days ago I found out that Ornette Coleman will be playing a show for the PDX Jazz Festival. I really, really, really want to go to this show. Unfortunately, Angela’s not really into skronky jazz. Dear readers, I beg of you: please attend this show with me. It’s on Friday, February 15, which gives you plenty of time to clear out your calendar. I want to buy tickets for this soon, because I doubt they’re going to be available for very long.

I hope I get some significant stretches of time today to write some code. Not only because I missed a day of work after a miserable weekend and have some catching up to do. But because new albums by Architecture in Helsinki and Caribou were released this morning.
Tortoise will be playing at the Aladdin Theater on June 25. (Just a couple blocks from my new apartment!) Anyone interested in going with me?
