Obviously, I didn’t manage to post anything during Web 2.0 Expo. Connectivity problems outside the conference (and sometimes inside the conference), along with being in New York for the first time made blogging rather difficult. I’ll be posting my notes in the coming days.

Angela and I are in New York this week for Web 2.0 Expo. She’s not attending, of course. It was a good opportunity for her to see New York.
Unlike with past conferences I’ve attended, I’ll probably be posting my thoughts on the sessions in the evenings.
Update: The lack of power in the session rooms is very disappointing.
Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1 is available for download. I haven’t had the chance to try it yet. Looking forward to seeing how good its standards mode really is.
I am now a web hosting reseller. I’m still working on package details, but if you’re in need of hosting with a personal touch, send me an e-mail.
Portland was added to Google Maps street view today. Here is a shot of my MINI next to Ryan’s red Rabbit.
Last night, I attempted to log into Comcast’s site so I could pay my bill.
Unable to localize to your account? Maybe that means I forgot my password.
Guess not. So, I went to bed.
Tonight I tried again, with identical results. This time, I called customer service. The rep was nice enough, but had no idea what the error message meant. All she knew is that she could fill out some form that would get sent to the company that develops their website. Of course, for me this means that the complaint has gone into a black hole. No satisfaction.
I guess I’ll just send in the paper bill.
Is anyone else finding recent releases of Firefox to be totally unusable after a couple hours? I’ve done some of the things people suggest for reducing its memory footprint without much luck. Not long before I took this screenshot, BonEcho (an unofficial build of Firefox) was up to about 220 MB. (Yes, I have the same problems with the official builds.)
Totally ridiculous.
I’m giving the latest beta of Camino another chance to win me over. There are four main things I’m going to miss from Firefox, though:
- Web Developer extension
- Firebug extension
- del.icio.us Bookmarks extension
- Ability to set Google Reader as the default feed reader
A week or two ago, I ran across a song from the new Menomena album. I thought it was good, but wasn’t totally sure that I’d like the entire album. Today, Jason Calacanis wrote about Hype Machine, a site that allows you to search songs posted to music blogs. A search for “menomena” brought up two other songs from their new album. Now I definitely want to buy it.
It’s too bad that it’s probably going to end up being shut down by the music industry. Because, you know, helping people find new music hurts the music industry.
